The Roman "Villa del Casale" dating from the late 3rd century AD is magnificently decorated with wonderful mosaics. The Villa as discovered in late 1800 to be then brought fully into light in midd-'900. It's the largest mosaic-covered surface all ver the world. It covers an area of about 3.500 square meters. 600.000 tourists from all over the world visit it every year.
In 1997 it was declared Humanity's World Heritage.
